Testing this thang. Added a song from a CD with different artists from my hometown and the closest geographical vicinity. I play guitar. The song is recorded live in studio. If you convey the lyrics as gibberish, it's because it's in norwegian. Feel free to comment, whether it's slaughter or praise.

Kjel,

Thanks for sharing your music with us. You are very talented, intelligent & tasteful. I like the song & the musicians. I do have a few criticisms, however:

The introduction with your sensual guitar voicings & later fine interplay with the double bass was left undeveloped ~ on a lot of levels, & it was the best part of the entire performance.

The performance lasts too long, because it doesn't develop enough, either in intensity or compositionally. (There's no climax.)

You over-use the "Charleston Rhythm," (which can be placed in many diferent parts of the measure) causing the rhythmic presentation to be predicable. There is an overuse of motor rhythms (8th notes) as opposed to specific hits & African-inspired polymetric interplay. There is also no central voice to carry off the big solo, along with the drums, to bring the focal point to a climax.

Please keep us posted as to your progress, as I know you will develop into a fine artist.

Best,
Ed Byrne

Thanks a mill! This is something recorded almost two years ago, and I
think and hope I've developed some since then. Really nice to get these
suggestions anyway, as there are lots and lots of points I haven't even
considered. I'll be sure to post again once I have some newer recorded
material. :)

Don't wrap stuff in plastic, anyway. I'm not here to chit-chat, I'm here to learn and develop my musical skills.
